And I Thank You Show

S2 EP1 Neal Rubin of The Detroit Free Press

Season 2 Episode 1

The show is explained.

We get one thing out of the way: Sports broadcasting jocks are "unbelievable!" This needs to stop.

We do a plug for Dynamic Mattresses.

We meet Neal Rubin, esteemed and witty columnist for The Detroit Free Press. We talk about news and sports and entertainment in the 70's and up till now from Neal's career of writing on Detroit.

We play "Thank You, No Thank You" where Neal answers the requisite questions on Detroit rock and roll, pizza, sliders and media.

We finish as always with Disclaimers and Thank You's.

About Neal:

Neal has a tremendous body of work reporting and column writing since 1984 at The Detroit Free Press, then Detroit News, and currently back at the Freep. His eyes and ears and writing style paint vivid pictures on what is happening in a dynamic (not that Dynamic) Metro Detroit. Neal's Sunday column is required reading, as well as his columns during the week in print or at freep.com.

Neal wrote the comic strip Gil Thorp for 18 years. The strip told the story of the fictional Milford High School football coach and chronicled the wholesome trials and travails of high school students and society.

Fun reads from Neal:

It appears that Neal does not do much on social media, but can be reached for column suggestions and other folderol at narubin@freepress.com.
